Built-in batteries still count
A battery inside a product is still a battery for producer responsibility. The device can need ElektroG registration while the battery needs BattG registration, with separate reporting and take-back arrangements.
Check the chemistry and the weight
Reporting and fees depend on the battery type and weight. Keep supplier data for each SKU so the annual report can be reconciled with the products actually sold.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need both BattG and ElektroG?
Often yes. The device is electrical equipment and the battery is a separate stream. Register for each obligation that applies.

Portable batteries include many button cells. Check the current BattG definitions and the stiftung ear guidance for the specific product.
