Test the wash, not just the unboxing
A print that looks good on arrival can crack or fade after a few washes. Wash a sample according to the care label and compare it with a new unit. That is the defect a buyer will report weeks later.
Photograph the test and keep the batch or provider information. If a provider changes its process, the old sample may not represent current output.
Make the reprint decision easy
For low-cost items, a fast reprint is often cheaper than a dispute. For higher-value items, ask for photos and a description before approving. The policy should be clear on the listing and applied consistently.
Track defect reasons by provider and product. A repeating issue is a supplier problem, not a customer problem.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a POD print last?
It depends on the method, fabric and care. Wash testing your actual product is the only reliable way to set expectations.
Should I refund or reprint a defective item?
A reprint is often faster and cheaper for low-value items. Use a clear policy and collect photos to track the cause.
