What TikTok deducts, and in what order
TikTok Shop does not take a single percentage. A category commission (the referral fee) applies to the item price after seller discounts. A transaction fee is charged on the order in some markets. Voucher Extra (VXP) adds a fee when you fund platform vouchers, and affiliate commission is paid to creators at the rate you set. On top sit fulfilment, refund administration and, in the UK, a per-order penalty for seller-fulfilled orders.
The calculator subtracts commission and the transaction/payment rate first, then per-order charges, subscription, fulfilment and expected return loss. The result is net payout, profit per order, margin and the break-even price — the price at which fees and costs consume the whole sale.
Vietnam: the 9 May 2026 change
From 9 May 2026 TikTok Shop Vietnam raised the transaction fee from 5% to 6% and the VXP fee from 3% to 4%, capped at 50,000 VND per product. Category commission moved at the same time: standard fashion sits around 12.5–13.5%, Mall fashion 14.7–16.1%, health and beauty 12.5–14% (up to 17.8% for Mall), and general merchandise 9–13%.
The Vietnam preset loads 13% commission plus 6% transaction fee, so the base deduction is 19% before VXP and affiliate. On a 350,000 VND sale that is 66,500 VND in platform fees before any creator commission — the reason a product priced on a 13% assumption can lose money once all the lines are added.
US and UK: the rates move with the market
In the United States the referral fee is 6% in most categories (5% for some jewellery and pre-owned goods). Current US orders do not carry a separate published transaction fee; older guides list about 2.15% + $0.20, so enter it if your settlement shows it. Refund administration is 20% of the referral fee capped at $5 per SKU, shipping protection is 1% on orders over $100, and Fulfilled by TikTok runs about $3.58–$4.28 per unit.
In the United Kingdom the referral fee is 9% and the transaction fee is about 1.4% + £0.20. Seller-fulfilled orders have carried a £0.50 per-order penalty since July 2025 — add it to the per-order field. Affiliate commission is seller-set in all three markets and is not included until you enter it.
What to replace before trusting the result
The presets are starting points, not quotes. Replace the commission with your exact category and shop type, add VXP or the UK per-order penalty if they apply, and enter the fulfilment fee you actually pay. If you pay affiliate commission, put it in the commission field as an additional percentage or reduce the sale price by the affiliate share.

Frequently asked questions
Is the TikTok Shop fee 6%?
In Vietnam 6% is the transaction fee, not the whole charge: category commission is added on top, so standard fashion lands near 19% before VXP and affiliate. In the US the referral fee is 6% in most categories; in the UK it is 9%.
Why does the Vietnam preset use 13% commission plus 6% transaction?
13% is the midpoint of the standard fashion commission range (12.5–13.5%) and 6% is the transaction fee effective 9 May 2026. Change both fields to your category and shop type, and add VXP if you fund vouchers.
How do I account for Voucher Extra (VXP)?
VXP is 4% in Vietnam, capped at 50,000 VND per product. The calculator has no per-product cap, so for low-priced items add 4% to the commission field and treat the result as a conservative upper bound; for items above 1.25 million VND, add the 50,000 VND cap to the per-order fee instead.
Are US transaction fees included?
The US preset leaves them at zero because current US orders do not carry a separately published transaction fee. Some guides still list about 2.15% + $0.20; if your settlement report shows that line, enter it in the payment fields.
Does the calculator include VAT or import duty?
No. It models platform fees, fulfilment and returns only. Use the landed cost calculator for customs duty and import VAT, and keep the sale price tax-inclusive or tax-exclusive consistently.
