Private label cost calculator
Enter the supplier quote and the costs around it. The calculator shows the real landed cost per unit, the cash you need and how many units must sell to recover the investment.
Duty is applied to the goods value only. Some countries include freight or insurance in the customs value, and fee schedules vary by category and price. Confirm both before ordering.
What the landed unit cost includes
It includes the goods, duty, inbound freight, tooling, samples and other variable cost per unit, spread across the order quantity. That is the number to compare with the selling price, not the supplier’s unit quote.
It excludes storage, marketplace fulfilment, advertising and returns. Add those in the margin calculator or the inventory cash-flow calculator before approving the order.
Break-even is a cash test, not a profit target
Break-even units tell you how many sales recover the cash committed to the order. A product can be profitable per unit and still run out of cash if most of the order sits in storage.
If the break-even quantity is a large share of the order, the first run is a bet on sell-through. Consider a smaller order, a stock color or a supplier with a lower MOQ.
The inputs worth verifying
Verify the duty rate with the destination tariff, the freight quote with the actual carton dimensions, and the marketplace fee for the exact category and price band. A default fee percentage is a planning assumption, not a contract.
Update the calculator when the product specification changes. A new material or pack size can change the duty, the freight and the fee tier at the same time.

Frequently asked questions
Is duty charged on freight?
It depends on the country’s customs valuation basis. This calculator applies duty to the goods value only; check the destination rule.
What is a good MOQ?
One you can sell through before the cash cycle hurts. A lower MOQ at a higher unit cost can be safer than a large order at a low price.
Why is landed cost higher than the supplier quote?
Tooling, samples, freight, duty and other per-unit costs are added and spread across the order.
Should I include marketplace fees?
Yes, if you sell on a marketplace. The referral fee comes out of the selling price before your profit.
