Marketplace fees and policy
A marketplace is not a payment processor with a shop attached. It sets fees, collects tax in some jurisdictions, enforces product rules and controls the listing. These pages map the lines that decide payout and the obligations that decide whether a listing stays live.
Fees are a stack, not a percentage
Sellers often compare platforms by referral fee and ignore the rest. Fulfilment, storage, returns processing, closing fees, currency conversion and advertising can together exceed the referral line. Model the total take rate on your own price and category.
Every page links to the calculator that handles the arithmetic. Where a rate is set per category or marketplace, the page says so and points to the schedule rather than presenting a stale number as universal.
Policy is part of unit economics
A restricted-product removal or a brand complaint can strand inventory that was already paid for. The policy pages are written as operating constraints: what triggers a review, what evidence is needed, and which action preserves the listing.
Nothing here is legal advice. For product safety, tax registration or customs obligations, use the official source and a qualified adviser in the relevant jurisdiction.
